DABS Reports 75% Progress on CASA-1000 Project

DABS has announced that the CASA-1000 regional project in Afghanistan is nearly 75% complete. According to officials, the project is being implemented simultaneously in three sections. Adding that Afghanistan will earn $65 million annually in transit fees from the electricity passing through its territory.

KABUL POST – Meanwhile, DABS CEO, Abdulhaq Hamkar, had an online discussion with Daler Juma, the Energy Minister of Tajikistan, about the progress and challenges of the project. Tajikistan’s Minister emphasized the strategic importance of the project, stating that Tajikistan supports technical coordination and joint efforts to accelerate its implementation.

CASA-1000 is a key regional energy project aimed at transmitting electricity from Central Asia to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Experts believe that the successful implementation of this project could strengthen Afghanistan's role as an energy transit hub in the region.
