Etihad Airways has announced it will increase its Kabul–Abu Dhabi flights to a daily service starting 1 May 2026, citing strong passenger demand and rising bookings shortly after the route’s relaunch. The airline initially restarted operations on 20 March 2026, with four weekly flights, but said the rapid growth in demand has prompted a quick expansion.
KABUL POST - The airline described the Kabul–Abu Dhabi route as an increasingly important link for travelers in Afghanistan, offering more reliable international access. Officials said the expanded schedule will provide greater flexibility for both business and leisure passengers, reflecting renewed confidence in the route’s long-term viability.
The upgrade is also expected to improve global connectivity for Afghan travelers, enabling smoother onward connections through Abu Dhabi to major destinations in Europe and North America, including London, Frankfurt, Toronto and Washington, D.C. The move is seen as a step toward strengthening Afghanistan’s international air links amid a gradual recovery in regional travel.
